Deed to Map: Metes & Bounds
Effective date: 29 September 2026 Developer: Tigran Barseghyan Contact: developer.barseghyan@gmail.com
In short
The app does not collect your personal data, does not store it on any server, and does not sell or share it. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising.
The documents you photograph stay on your device.
The documents you photograph
This is the most sensitive thing the app touches, so it comes first.
A deed or survey typically carries names, an address, book and page references, and sometimes a price. When you photograph or import one:
- the images are stored inside the app’s own container on your device
- the recognized text is stored with them, on your device
- neither is ever uploaded, transmitted or seen by the developer
- deleting the parcel deletes its pages; deleting the app deletes everything
If you choose to email a document to support because it did not read correctly, that is your decision and your message. The app never sends anything on its own.
Text recognition
Reading the text on your document is done entirely on your device, using the text recognition built into iOS. No image and no text is sent anywhere for recognition. This is true for every document, every time, with or without a network connection.
Location
Location is used to show where you are relative to the parcel, to guide you toward a corner, and to let you set the point of beginning by standing on it.
Your location is processed on the device. It is not transmitted, not stored on any server and not shared. The one exception is below, under address lookup: once a parcel is placed, its position is looked up to show an address, and if you placed it by standing on a corner, that position is close to where you stood. You can refuse location access and still read documents, compute parcels and place them by hand.
Address lookup and map imagery
Two things do leave your device, and only these two.
Address lookup. Two requests go to Apple’s geocoding service. When a parcel is placed from an address or road name found on your document, that text is sent to find a position. And whenever a parcel is shown on the map, the coordinate of its center is sent so the app can show a one-line address under the map and you can confirm the parcel landed in the right place. Apple’s privacy policy governs both requests.
Map imagery. Satellite and map tiles are served by Apple Maps, which means the area you are looking at is requested from Apple’s servers, as in any map application.
Neither request carries your identity, your document, or anything else the app has stored. If you place the parcel from printed coordinates, from your GPS position, or by tapping the map, no text from your document is sent; only the placed parcel’s position is looked up, as above.
Purchases
Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. The developer never receives your payment details. The app asks Apple whether a purchase exists; Apple’s answer contains no personal information.
What is stored on your device
- the parcels you create and their calls
- the document pages you photographed or imported, and the text recognized from them
- where you placed each parcel and how you rotated it
- the measurements you save, and any notes you add to individual calls
- your settings, such as display units and bearing format
All of it is local. None of it is backed up to any service belonging to the developer. If you use iCloud Backup, your device backup is covered by Apple’s terms, not by this policy.
Exports and sharing
Exporting to KML, GPX, CSV or PDF, and sharing a report, are actions you take. The file goes where you send it. The developer receives nothing.
What the app does not do
No user accounts. No analytics or crash reporting services. No advertising. No tracking across apps or websites. No cookies, no device fingerprinting. No sale or sharing of data, because none is collected.
The app’s App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing held about you to access, correct or delete.
You are in control of what is on your device: revoke camera or location access at any time in iOS Settings, delete individual parcels and their pages inside the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it and the updated version appears at this address. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
