FAQ

Is this a subscription?

No. Every purchase in this app is a one-time payment. Buy a single guide, or unlock the whole library once with “All Guides”. Nothing renews and nothing expires.

Can I try before paying?

Yes. The Yerevan guide is free in full, and every other guide has a free excerpt behind the Try button on its detail screen.

How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?

Open the app → Settings → Purchases → Restore.

Your guides come back to your library; the audio files then download again. Purchases do not move between iPhone and Android, because Apple and Google keep separate records of them.

A guide will not download.

Downloads need a connection the first time. Check that you are online, then tap Retry on the player. If it keeps failing, make sure you have free space (Settings → Storage shows what each guide takes up) and try again on Wi‑Fi. If it still fails, email us and say which guide and which phone.

Do I need a connection to listen?

Only to download. Once a guide is on your phone the audio plays entirely offline: in a gorge, on a marshrutka, or with the phone in airplane mode.

Are the recordings available in Russian?

Yes. The guides are narrated in English and in Russian, and the app’s interface comes in both too, as two separate choices. Set the interface in Settings → App language and the narration in Settings → Guides language, and change either at any time.

Switching the guides language does not take anything away: downloads are kept per language, so a guide you already hold in English stays on the device. The app offers to fetch your library in the new language, and tells you how many megabytes that will be before it starts.

How do I free up space?

Settings → Storage lists what is on the device and lets you delete downloads. Deleting a download never takes away a guide you paid for. It stays in your library and can be downloaded again at any time, at no cost.

The audio stops when I lock the screen.

It should not. The app plays in the background, with controls on the lock screen, in headphones and in the car.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, not by us.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no login and no password. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account or Google account by the store.

Does the app track my location?

No. It never asks for location access on either platform and never receives your position. The Open in Maps button on a guide simply hands a place’s coordinates to the map app you pick (Apple Maps, Google Maps or Yandex Maps), and that app takes over from there.
