GPS Test Satellite Tracker (“the App”) is developed by Tigran Barseghyan (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the App handles and how. The short version: the App does not collect, store on our servers, sell, or share your personal data. We do not operate any server that receives data about you.
The App requests “While Using the App” location access to:
Your location is processed entirely on your device. It is never transmitted off your device by the App, never saved to disk, and never shared with us or anyone else. If you deny location access, the App shows a screen explaining that it cannot function without it; no location data is handled in that case.
To show current satellite positions, the App downloads publicly available satellite orbital data (TLE) from the third-party service tle.ivanstanojevic.me. These requests contain no personal data, no location, and no identifiers added by the App — only which page of the public catalog to fetch. As with any internet request, that service technically receives your device’s IP address as part of standard networking; we do not control that service. The downloaded catalog is cached on your device so the App also works offline.
The App offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (“Pro”). Payments are processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never receive or store your name, payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID. The App only receives an anonymous confirmation from Apple that a subscription is active on the device. Apple’s handling of your purchase data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
The App stores only non-personal preferences locally on your device: display units, heading mode, coordinate format, radar radius, satellite filters, small UI flags (e.g., whether hints were shown), and the cached satellite catalog. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the App.
The “Share” feature creates an image and text summary of a satellite’s data and opens the standard iOS share sheet. Content is shared only when you choose to share it and only to the destination you pick. We never see it.
Because we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Local data can be removed at any time by deleting the App. Location permission can be revoked in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Subscriptions are managed in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
If the App’s data practices ever change, we will update this policy and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
